NICKY SUNDT: THERE’S NO ESCAPE ROUTE WHEN IT COMES TO CLIMATE CHANGE

The Climate 25: Nicky Sundt from Weather Films on Vimeo.

THE PLANET IS OUR SHELTER. WE HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF IT.

From 1976 through 1990, Nicky Sundt spent most of his summers working for the U.S. Forest Service as a firefighter – including six seasons as a smokejumper. Now, working for the World Wildlife Fund, he sees in the changes in the frequency of forest fires in the United States, a stark warning for what could happen in the future if we don’t work to combat climate change.

In the 1990s, Sundt edited two climate-related publications before joining the coordination office of the U.S. Global Change Research Program in 2000, where he was the communications director. Since June 2014, he has served as the director of climate change science and policy integration for the WWF.

Sundt has written blog posts about climate change for the WWF Climate Blog and the Huffington Post.
